Swords and Sword-craft Talk with Border Reiver's Supper
Friday 19th May 2017This event has passed.

The weapon of choice from the Bronze age and even into the 19th century, sword design and swordsmithing were a great art. Archaeologist Andrew Nicholson will take you through the evolution of the design, construction and use of swords right through to the present day, using local examples, reproductions and original pieces. But be warned – this is not for the faint-hearted as Andrew regales you with the no-holds-barred history of this weapon. Those with a strong stomach can then join us in a Border Reiver’s supper of roast beef or crowdie cheese and fresh bread with a glass of wine/ale or a (non traditional!) soft drink.

Tickets must be purchased in advance at the museum (call 01387 253374) and cost £5 per person. Additional refreshments will be available to buy at the Reiver Bar.
