Saturday 20th May 2017This event has passed.

To celebrate the year of History, Heritage and Archaeology 2017 come along to the museum and see history brought alive. There will be children’s sessions with a talk on Scottish soldiers, their weapons and their uniforms , and an introduction to the Covenanters.

Throughout the day the costumed characters will be available to show their uniforms and weapons and tell their stories, and (weather permitting!) there will be a display of colours (Scottish 17th century military banners) and marching in the Square! You will also be the first visitors to see Prisoners, Police, Post & Pills – an exhibition about the history of the museum building, the Kirriemuir Townhouse, a building at the heart of Kirriemuir since 1604.
